+ The height of the pillow is just right and takes a load off of your neck and back.
+ The material is somewhat squishy but sticks together so it holds shape really well, is firm but comfy at the same time (unlike other pillows filled with tiny beadlike material)
+ The fact that it's shaped and filled so well means, that it is possible to read a book while nursing (so in theory using only 1 hand and at times even 0, and baby is comfy and doesn't unlatch in the page-turning moment)
+ The blue melange cover is nice
- Aesthetics of the design. The pink melange cover is see through, and on both of the covers I dislike the neon pink "bbhugme" brand tag (they completely don't match and disrupt the soft pastel colours),
I also regret not having a choice of some of the more earthy colors that are available for pregnancy pillows for nursing pillows too. In retrospect I should've gotten the grey one.
- You usually need a pillow or an empty space behind your back, where you tie it, because that's where the knot and the "pebbles" will end up (note, you can't really tie it on the side because you need the fabric overlap to create a knot) so leaning back may be a bit uncomfortable
- it's good to note/realize It works much better tied, which requires two hands, and if you're cluster feeding, this might be a hassle, or you may end up walking around the house with a wheel around you :D
- The inner pillow is extremely thin and fragile, it's been leaking small amounts of the filling since the very first day
Overall the product is definitely a good one that serves the primary function (relieving bad posture and back pain) excellently, but has some flaws and may seem overpriced due to the flaws. (Or rather, one would expect their absence for the pricetag). But I would purchase it again (in grey and blue, still hoping for better, earthy colour options) knowing all of this anyways.
The easiest to fix is the visual design, so for the future I suggest:
- making the tags more neutral, less crazy and neon! (the pillow is constantly visible somewhere and it itself looks incohesive, not to mention unmatched with the rest of the living space)
- offering more neutral or earthy colours such as khakhi, brick, sand...
- while thinking of new colours to offer, try thinking of colours that could go well with the already existing selection of pregnancy pillow covers and vice versa (so if a person likes the function of your products, is not discouraged by the visuals, but opposite, enticed to have both a pregnancy and a nursing pillow that look harmoniously together with no flashy neon aspects, unless the whole cover is flashy neon yellow/orange/pink)
